Publication DH is a free magazine about art, artists and artist run spaces and AIR programs in The Hague. The magazine offers a guide to the cultural infrastructure in The Hague. Published by Stroom with (among others) a contribution by Trans Artists

 

 

Publication Landschap en Herinnering (Landscape and Memory) by P.A.I.R. gives an overview of the many special AIR projects that took place last year at P.A.I.R. mobile residency (Drenthe). Order the publication for 10,00 Euro at P.A.I.R.

 

Publication the international artist-in-residency program Stormlicht 2008-9; a collaboration by bronze foundry Beeldenstorm and graphic workshop Daglicht in Eindhoven, is presented in a publication. The exhibition will be presented at Stedelijk Museum Aalst, Galerie Petra Nostheide Eycke Nettetal and at artspace deWillem3 in Vlissingen.

 

 

Deadlines

Right now! ARD ARD is a new residency program located in a small shoemakers workshop from 1860 in the village center of Dalen and within walking distance of the rural landscape of Drenthe. ARD offers a temporary living and work space to artists from the Netherlands or abroad working in various disciplines of contemporary art. The space is especially suitable for artists interested in land art projects in the area, or artists wishing to spend some time in seclusion to focus on a special project. More info here.

DuendeDuende

Aug 1 Deadline for applications for a 3 month residency at Duende Studios in Rotterdam. Duende is an independent self-organized artist-cooperative providing 42 studios for independent artists practicing on a professional basis.

Aug 1 Apply for a residency at P.A.I.R., a site specific landscape oriented residency in Drenthe. The residency is located in two containers that each residency are moved to another location. There are some books and tools, solar panels, 500 liters of fresh water, a wood burning stove and some wood to make a fire. The theme for residences this year is Chorography. Aug 15 Artists, writers, curators, reseachers, designers and scientists can apply for a residency at Badgast , a residency program at the sea in Scheveningen. Project proposals should include a research that articulates a cultural, innovative and sustainable significance of the sea and its coasts. If the project is selected, Badgast can offer a working budget. Max time of stay: 4 weeks. Additional info on their website.

Aug 16 Apply for the Map Programme: initiated by the Pépinières européennes pour jeunes artistes, offers a wide range of artistic mobility concept sustained by several partner structures in Europe and Quebec. This year new residencies opportunities are open for application by artists from the participating countries and who are between 18 and 35 years old. More info here

Aug 20 The Frans Masereel Centre in Kasterlee, Belgium, invites visual artists interested in using the "printmaking" medium in their artistic endeavour to apply for a 3 week residency from the beginning of January up to the end of November.

Sept 30 BijlmAIR invites artists and other cultural producers to live and work temporarily in Amsterdam Southeast. This period can be used for project research or for realisation of a project or work of art, following a relevat proposal made by the applicant. The residency needs to relate to the transnational and intercultural society of Amsterdam Southeast. The programme is primarily meant for young artists who finished their art education recently.
