Description
Emphasis of the residency program at Sanbao is working with hands, in a setting of simple daily life, with local craftsmen, and artists from all over the world in an atmosphere of creative and cultural exchange. Sanbao seeks to provide artists with time, space and materials to create a body of work in an inspiring and rich environment.

Technical Information
The firing facilities include: anagama wood-fire kiln, wood-fired salt kiln, medium-sized gas kiln, small raku kiln and large traditional Chinese dragon kiln .
Accommodation Information
Studio complex at Jingdezhen Sanbao Ceramic Art Institute is a traditional mud walled, tile roofed country house, with wood partitions designating workspaces. Also available are outdoor workspaces, including an open-walled porcelain studio perched above a stream, and two thatch roofed workspaces offering seclusion.
Paid by artist
Accommodation, board and food, access to the studio equipment and facilities (300 USD per week). Health insurance, individual traveling expenses and gas Kiln or salt-wood kiln firings.
Location
In the Sanbao Valley a group of farm houses and an adobe building were chosen as the site for the art center.
Deadline
Application will be accepted on an ongoing basis, however those applications submitted prior to 31 December will be given priority evaluation. Those submitted after 31 December, will be evaluated on a space available basis
