Description
Imagine Gallery Residency Programs provide artists, curators, writers and academics with an opportunity to live and work in China. Imagine Gallery Residency Programs provide an individual support to help you to build your own program, meeting your objectives and your requests while you are living in Beijing.
Studio Information
Feijiacun studio's floor surface is 70 sq. m and the upstairs loft style bedroom and office area with an internal balcony overlooking the workspace is 35 sq m space. 5 meters high-celling with 2 roof windows and north windows give adequate lighting. Bathroom, toilets, stockage/laundry room and open kitchen in the studio.
The studio is self-contained with phone, water-machine, fridge, gas stove, washing machine, heating, air conditioning(only in the upstairs closed bedroom), adequate kitchen gear, furnishings and linen, internet connection (You have to bring your own Laptop), TV with DVD player (only available while not in use for a Gallery's exhibition show), bicycle(s), CD player.
Utilities and weekly cleaning are included.
Suojiacun studio's floor surface is 70 sq.m, including workspace, toilets-bathroom, open kitchen and open bedroom. 6 meters high-celling with 2 roof windows and south windows give adequate lighting.
The studio is self-contained with fridge, gas stove, heating, adequate kitchen gear, furnishings and linen, bicycle(s).
Meishuguan studio: 45 m2, including living-room, kitchen, 2 rooms, toilets-bathroom.
The studio is self-contained with phone, water-machine, fridge, gas stove, washing machine, heating, air conditioning, adequate kitchen gear, furnishings and linen, internet connection (You have to bring your own Laptop), TV with DVD player, bicycle(s), CD player.
Paid by host
Possibility to have an Exhibition Show at Imagine Gallery during or by the end of the Artist Residency, free of charge (not including the material and the mailing back of the artist's work). Promotion (invitation design & printing) and opening reception of the exhibition are partly at the charge of Imagine Gallery and the artist is requested to participate to the costs: 150 euros. The research for grants and any kind of sponsorships or material/financial support is recommended. Sells incomes are 50% for the Artist and 50% for the Gallery.

The costs for the studio in Feijiacun is 700 euros per month, including electricity, water, heating, cleaning/weekly, personal mobil phone and ADSL internet (Wireless). The costs for the studio in Suojiacun is 700 euros per month, including electricity, water, heating, cleaning/weekly, personal mobil phone and ADSL internet. The 2nd month is 650 euros, the 3d month is 600 euros. As info, basic day-to-day living expenses (food and transport) are about 300 euros per month.
Location
Both Feijiacun and Suojiacun Imagine Gallery's studios are situated on the north-east side of Beijing(15 mns from dowtown and 15 mns from airport), between the 5th and 6th ring roads. Feijiacun's studio is situated just next by Imagine Gallery space. Suojiacun's studio is situated 10 mns by bicycle from Imagine Gallery space.
Meishuguan Imagine Gallery's studio is in Beijing dowtown, on the north-east of Tiananmen, next by Wangfujing and The National Museum of Art.
