At the European Ceramic Work Centre 

The Swedish visual artist Etta Säfve has been selected for a residency stay at the European Ceramic Work Centre in Den Bosch, withing the framework of the European Pépinières Programme for Young Artists. Read her personal notes on her residency experience.

Description

The European Ceramic Work Centre is an international workplace where artists, designers and architects explore the technical and artistic possibilities of ceramics. The .ekwc operates as an artist-in-residence centre and as a centre of excellence. Its aim is to promote the development of ceramic art, design and architecture.

Technical Information

They have the latest ceramic facilities, a reference library, studio with CAD/CAM equipment, a multi-purpose space for photography and temporary installations and the support of a team of specialists. The work place is open 24 hours a day.

Accommodation Information

Rooms in seperate apparment building are offered to the residents.

Paid by host

Working material, studio, technical assistance, technical facilities, information centre with extensive library and computer facilities.

Paid by artist

Cost for individual residency (includes apartment, studio, instruction, service costs): 173 euro per week.

Location

The EKWC lies in the center of 's Hertogenbosch, a city with a rich history and a range of cultural and social facilities. 's Hertogenbosch is centrally located and has excellent rail and motorway connections. The EKWC covers an area of 2000 sq/m which comprises a work place with technical facilities and independent studios and offices.

Deadline

April 15 and September 15 each year. Deadline CAD/CAM: ongoing.

Application Criteria

A professional artist or designer with at least two years of independent work experience, whose work and/or artistic preoccupations relate to the EKWC as defined above. Working knowledge of English or Dutch is required.
